More info from conklinradio Addressing party members shortly after her emergence, Dr. Ekpedeme Udom thanked the people for the confidence reposed on her to lead them politically while calling for cooperation and support to aid in the effective discharge of her duty. She assured the people of her readiness to key into Governor Umo Eno’s A.R.I.S.E Agenda, while attracting empowerment opportunities, rural health scheme and other dividends of good governance to the people of Asang Ward 4. Earlier, Hon. Elder David Edmond Udosen, a former Councilor of the Ward who moved the motion for the stepping down of the out gone political leader, thanked Obong Francis Inyang for his leadership in the last 12 years, but lamented that his usual lopsided behaviour and high handedness style did not always carry the stakeholders along in the administration of party affairs, said it’s traceable to the recent case in point, being the abysmal manner he handled the call for nomination of Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor from the Ward, which caused widespread dissent and dissatisfaction in the Ward. “We cannot continue like this, something must be done now to save the Asang Ward 4 PDP family hence the need for the emergence of a new political leader to harmonize the Ward and move it forward” he said. Corroborating Elder Udosen’s stance, Hon. Elder David Thomas, a former Councillor of the Ward seconded the motion for the stepping down of Obong Francis Inyang. Meanwhile, party faithfuls who attended the meeting appended their signatures as attached to further cement their decision. Highpoints of the meeting included the motion for nomination, unanimous adoption and the presentation of Dr. Ekpedeme Udom, political leader of Asang Ward 4 by a former Councillor and Leader of Nsit Ibom Legislative Council, Hon Nsikan Umoh (JP).
