Number one seed in Girls 12 category, Ndidi Osaji, was upsets by unseeded Favour Okon James of GTA, who represent Akwa Ibom at the South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO) Futures Tennis Championship held in Lagos State, Nigeria.
The NO.1 seed Ndidi Osaji in girls -12 who just returned from a training tour in U.S was defeated by unseeded favour James from Akwa Ibom to top the group.
Favour was leading by 8-4 when Ndidi Osagi came fighting like a wounded Lion leveling up at 8–8 before she was finally overpowered by Favour James in the tiebreak. Taking the match by 9-8.
Favour however, jeopardized Ndidi’s chance of maintaining the girls-12 No 1 position.
Before then, Favour James won her first match 9-0 against Lagos base player. And further to ambushed Ndidi Osaji 9-8 in the second match to qualify for semifinal.
Favour James of GTA immerged 1st running up in the girls 12 category after she loss in the final 2-9 to a more experience Gloria Mohamed from Ekiti State.

Another GTA player from Akwa Ibom, Favour Uwem. Also won her first match 9-0 and lost in the semifinal to Gloria Mohamed from Ekiti.
Favour Uwem has remarkably improved her game compared to her last appearance at the AZIMUTH JUNIOR TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP in January this year.
Obiajulu Igha from Akwa-Ibom made his first junior debut at the SAPETRO Championship. Obiajulu who started his tennis career in January 2022, made an impressive performance. At the Championship, although he lost out in her first round.
Etoro Emmanuel also put an impressive performance in the tournament, but lost 9-0 in the semifinal -girls 14 category.
