Berit attended the University of Puget Sound Tacoma located in Washington. Later in the year 2002, she obtained a Doctor of Law degree from Columbia University. She also joined Columbia Law School’s center for advancement of Public Integrity as Executive Director.
Berit is a Federal Prosecutor, lawyer and a legal analyst on television. She was admitted to the New York Bar in 2003 and she worked as a litigation associate for the firm Paul, Weiss, Whifkind, Wharton, Garrison LLP. Before becoming a federal prosecutor, Berrit worked as a clerk for Honorable James C. Francis IV located in the Southern District of New York.
Her career was majorly centered on working as a federal prosecutor for the United States Attorney’s Office and she spent 11 years in service and within this range, she was able to act as an assistant to the U.S attorney and being the Chief of the general crime unit which is not excluding her involvement is several cases like violence, terrorism, fraud and other corrupt practices.
